DR. ELAYNE WILLIAMS STARTED HER VETERINARY PRACTICE IN FORT COLLINS IN NOVEMBER, 1976.
She only did housecalls – so the name, “The Roving Vet” was quite appropriate. She was the first vet to do housecalls and the first female veterinarian in Ft. Collins to have her own small animal practice. In those days she worked out of her house and took her surgeries to Greeley one day a week to a classmate’s veterinary clinic. As business increased, she set up a room in her house for surgeries. In her “spare” time she was also a single mom to three terrific daughters.
In 1985, she purchased a property on South College and turned it into a veterinary clinic. The name of her practice was changed to the Roving Veterinarian’s Clinic. In 1995, a new clinic was built on the same site and the name changed to Critter Veterinary Care. That practice continued to grow and Dr. Williams enjoyed her clients and helping them with their pets. She did NOT enjoy the headaches of supervising a growing veterinary business and eventually sold it, not once but twice. Dr. Williams has returned to Fort Collins as of December 12, 2011 and continues to enjoy helping old and new clients with their critters.
